The Waimarino team which was made up of Paul and Gary Creedy, Jim Corbett, Wayne Marsh, Gary Imhoff and Trevor Fredrick Jnr played against Halcombe in the morning and won 81 . In the afternoon it was up against the very strong Golf City team from Palmerston North. The Waimarino team had to wait right until the 17th hole of the final match between Gary Creedy and Junior T artanar to realise their dream finish win over Golf City 54.
