Pipiriki Rd work starts - on paper

Wanganui engineers Payne Sewell & Co have started investigation survey and design work for the Pipiriki Road works, the Waimarino Community Board was told at their recent monthly meeting. Area engineer Don Sattler told the board, by way of a progress report, that three items on the Pipiriki Road inside the Raetihi boundary which were programmed for widening in this financial year have now been postponed until October or November so that the Transit New Zealand subsidy will be available. Had the work been undertaken in this financial year, the widening would have had to come from the Southern Ward Roading Improvement Rate which is unsubsidised, he stated.
