Weaner sale up

Though the market nationwide still remains on the down side, this week's weaner sale was a little more buoyant, with some steers fetching between $235 and $300. Heifers ranged between $112 and $157 and the difference on average between steers was $40. Kimberley Farm realised good steer prices from $285 to $300. W Chan presented 36 mixed aged cows and topped the sale at $400 with B J Chambers close behind at $397. Though the yarding was small and buyers few, some visitors were present from Hastings and were not disappointed.
