The fourth annual Ravensdown Golf Tournament gets underway at the Waimarino Golf Course this Friday, with tee-off at 12.30pm. Officials of Ravensdown Fertiliser, the official sponsor of the event, antieipate that numbers will be on a par with last years 30+ entries. The event is open to all shareholders, farmers and growers from the Waimarino area. Golfers and nongolfers alike are expected to participate. Just one of the prizes up for grabs is $2,000 for the hole-in-one competition. A variety of other prizes have been donated by Raetihi and Ohakune's rural service businesses. Enthusiasts will be required to pay a small entry fee to cover costs, including the after match meal. Among those supporting the day are local stock and station agents Williams & Kettle and Wrightson, local fertiliser spreading contractor Kui Griffin & Co and transport operators Lilburn Transport.
