PUBLIC NOTICES HUNTING PROGRAMME 1995 From 9 May 1995 the Department of Conservation is carrying out its annual wild animal control programme along the Whanganui River trench from Atene to Taumarunui. Included in this programme are parts of the Whanganui National Park, plus scenic reserves and conservation stewardship lands in the Kirikau/Te Maire, Ohura, Retaruke/ Kaitieke and Mangatiti/Ruatiti areas. Hunting will concentrate on goat populations. However domestic stock encountered in these areas after 9 May be destroyed, sold or otherwise disposed of as per Section 96 (2) Reserves Act, Section 36 (3) Conservation Act and Section 62 (3) National Parks Act.
