Longer local radio

Southern Ruapehu's radio station is to increase its local broadcast hours from tomorrow, Wednesday 12 April. The station will be on-air from 6am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 7am to 1pm Sundays, said Peak FM general manager Geoff Anderson. At other times the station will continue to re-broadcast Star FM from Wanganui. Mr Anderson said some new programmes will be introduced. He said the station has also just taken delivery of a state-of-the-art production desk for putting together commercials and programmes. It is to be installed as soon as a new studio is completed. The present staff will be staying with the station and the on-air staff will be strengthened by himself and Robert Howard who transferred to Peak FM when the new owners took over the station earlier this year.
