Raetihi cattle sales down

In spite of a big yarding at the cattle sale in Raetihi on Thursday 1 6 March more than a few cattle were passed in. Prices are currently on the low-side, all right for buyers of course, but not so bright from the farmer' s point of view.

Top cattle reached prices from $550 to $610 for two-and-a-half year olds and 18-month-old cross-breds sold from $400 to $462. As well as local buyers, there was some interest from Hawkes Bay, Taihape, Manawatu and Wanganui.
