Assurance hospital money will stay

Waimarino residents can be assured that money from the sale of the old Waimarino Hospital building will remain in the community. That is the word from Good Health Wanganui's communications manager Merle Bradshaw, in reply to concems raised in the Ruapehu Bulletin, 7 March. She said money from the sale of the building would be offset against the cost of the new health centre.

"All the money from the old hospital will stay within the community," she said. "The bequest from the Irwin Estate has made it possible for us to go ahead with building the new health centre as there would otherwise have been insufficient funds," she added, in reply to concerns about donations made to the hospital in past years.
