Rockets spark UFO reports

A string of UFO sightings on Thursday were probably the result of rocket firing exercises at Waiouru. Both Hastings and Taihape police have received calls from members of the public who said they had seen fast moving objects emitting flames as they raced across the sky to the west. Air Force media liason officer Flight Lieutenant Diana Hales, said Skyhawks from Ohakea were carrying out air-to-ground exercises and had fired rockets.
