An empty school can soon fall into disrepair, but not Rangataua School which closed last year, thanks to a group of Ruapehu College pupils. Pictured are Anaru Mareikura, Quentin Takitimu, Chad Woodhouse, Nathaniel Ranginui and Deevon Gray working to tidy up the school's sandpit. In the background are Aaron Kairimu and Peter Cresswell. The pupils are part of Kerry Gibson's multiple studies class. Miss Gibson saw that the school was being neglected and persuaded her class to take on the project of keeping it in shape.
