Ohakune Police and the Raetihi Brigade were called to a truck accident 1km north of Raetihi on Tuesday 7 March. The accident, involving a Raetihi-based transport company truck and trailer unit, occurred about 8.30am. Both truck and trailer were fully loaded with wool bales.
State Highway 4 traffic was restricted for about 30 minutes while a local salvage company moved the overturned trailer unit from the road and motorists faced further delays while the Raetihi Fire Brigade cleared spilled diesel. The driver of the truck was shaken and bruised, though otherwise not seriouslyn injured.
