Locals urged to register soon for rugby 100

Organisatioh for the Ohakune Karioi Rugby Clubcentennial is progressing well with activifies planned for the weekend of 17-19 March, but organisers would like locals to let them know if they're coming. Registrations have been received for the weekend from ex-players and members from many parts of the North Island but locals have been slow to register, said the committee. "It is essential for locals to get their registrations in early so that caterers can be notified of numbers," said Merrilyn George. She said people should register with Brian Wilson at the Police Station or with Ken George, Box 84, Ohakune. A Friday night supper kicks off the celebrations and on Saturday several games are planned, from midgets to teams that include representative players.

A dinner dance is to be held Saturday night and a barbecue lunch on Sunday. A souvenir booklet programme will be available for sale.
