Waiouru rugby league
Pre-season training has started for the Waiouru Rugby League Club. "Under the guidance of Mr Miratana (Premier's coach) and Mr Bishop (assistant) we are looking at a very promising season, especially if the teams keep to their stringent fitness regimes," stated the club's promotions representative, Yvonne. Although fitness is up to the individual the club is fortunate to have the fitness expertise of Mr Miratana who works in camp as a physical training instructor. Attendance at the preseason evening has been great. The club would like to encourage any one interested in playing league from neighbouring areas to go to practice nights, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm.
"Bring the family along — we encourage the participation of the whole family," said Yvonne. "I myself have had the pleasure of joining the guys for a bit of a run around. It can only be good for you." The club is hoping to arrange a couple of pre-sea-son games which will help gauge what areas to work on before the competition. "Remember the league season is just around the corner so we would like to see you at the pre-season training."
