Bosnia soldiers reply

"Even the most hardy amongst the soldiers broke into smiles when they read the letters and cards," wrote Lt Col Williams, referring to the mass of mail that was sent by Waiouru Primary School children to New Zealand soldiers in Bosnia, Somalia and the Sinai. The children received replies to their letters from the soldiers last week, with some extra surprises such as stamps, bank notes and photographs included in some letters. "Initially we started with children sending letters to their parents who were soldiers serving overseas," said

principal Tauri Morgan. He said the school hopes to be involved in writing to the next batch of soldiers to

travel overseas. This time they planned to meet their adopted soldiers before they leave.
