Excitement planned for Playcentre
Playcentre is the place to be this year, where exciting things are going to happen, according to supervisor Michelle Nicholls. "Playcentre is run by parents for parents and we are a warm friendly bunch," she said. Playcentre operates with one supervisor and parent helpers working together.
"Learning through play is the only way," said Michelle. She said fees are kept to a minimum so all families can come and that it is open to all children. Playcentre caters forchildren from birth to six years and they can be left alone from two and a half years.
Playcentre offers parents the chance to train at the centre to be a supervisor and it' s a quick, easy way to get New Zealand Qualification Authority points without leaving Raetihi. "This year we are running an extension session on a Wednesday afternoon
catering for the needs of children from four to six years and with special needs. The activities will include special attention to science, art, puzzles, games, visits to school and other areas of interest in the Waimarino." "Every child is an individual and will be set his/ her own personal goals to
work towards being a more adjusted child in early education. These are the important years for growing and learning to develop emotionally, mentally, socially and physically." For more information, contact the supervisor Michelle Nicholls at Playcentre 385-4826 or home 385-3094.
