Graham Parker
Graham Parker is acting principal at Ruapehu College until May this year, by which time a replacement for Harry Cast should be appointed. Mr Parker steps into the role from deputy principal and John
Laurenson takes his place in the interim. Other changes at the college are: New maths teacher Dan Hyns, who comes from Hawera High School with a very experienced background in mathematics. He
is keen on volleyball, basketball and recreational fishing. Nicola Williams starts as a first year teacher in economics. Suzanne Trask takes up a part time position in science and mathematics. Mr Parker said the school starts the year fully staffed. "For all jobs there has been a good field of applicants so we' ve been able to make good choices," he said. Other changes at the college include the upgrading of the gym floor and other work (see story page 5), upgrading of some classrooms and corridors, and re-roofmg the technical and home economics block.
