• Two Ohakune persons were apprehended for the theft of a pot-belly stove from a Rangataua Road address on Sunday 15 January. Police were called to the address during the early hours of the morning and apprehended the offenders a short time later. They will appear in the Ohakune District Court on Friday 27 January to face theft charges. • Ohakune Police were called to a domestic incident at a Makakahi Valley address during the early hours of Friday moming, 13 January. No injury resulted from the incident. Police enquiries are continuing into the matter. • An offender in the process of burgling a ski chalet in Goldfinch Street, Ohakune, was apprehended by Police a short distance from the scene. The offender was a 14-year old Ohakune youth. • Police attended a burglary of an Ohura Road address that occurred some time between 3-8 January. Offenders gained entry by breaking a windo w and proceeded to vandalise the interior, causing extensive damage. A quantity of property was stolen and later recovered by Police. Damage is estimated in excess of $1000.00. Police have apprehended some children with regard to the offences, and they will be dealt with under the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act. • Ohakune Police were called to a domestic dispute at a Dunean Street, Raetihi, address on 2 January. One person will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 27 January on a charge of assault. • Ohakune Police are investigating the theft of a tool box containing a large

quanitity of tools, from an enclosed trailer left in the Rangataua Forest overnight on Sunday 8 January. Offenders jemmied open a portion of the trailer' s roof to remove the property. The other items in trailer were untouched. # A vehicle parked at an Islington Street, Raetihi, address between 4-8 January had all four wheels removed. The owner of the vehicle was participating in a canoe trip on the Whanganui River and returned to find his vehicle minus its wheels. Police enquiries are continuing. • Police are investigating the burglary of a Mangawhero Terrace, Ohakune, address at the end of December. A Panasonic video recorder and music tape were stolen.
