Almost all 1 994 Waimarino babies were given different names, apart from some of the boys. Two Mathews were registered at the Ohakune council offices, along with two Williams and two girls named Frances. Names generally covered a wide range, i ncludi ng M aori , biblical and the more traditional such as Robert, Malcolm, Hamish, Sarah, Grace, Kathryn and Stephanie. Unusual Waimarino names for girls included Chevaugn, Charise, Maylean, Serena, Shardae, Shaedyn, Shyra, Lynaela, Keriana. Maori names included Rangihinemotu, Ngarongonui, Takotoroa. Unusual Waimarino boys' names included Morvin, Colby, Chae, Elijah, Sharn, Adian, Fabianle, Ezekiel, Kelsey, Mossimo, Casper. Maori names included Henere, Hemiona, Hamuera, Te Roa Paha, Piripi.
