Raetihi prize giving

Traditionally Raetihi Primary School prize giving has always been well supported by parents, family and friends and this year was no exception, to the point where the hall was over flowing out to the school yard. arena seemed to come more easily where fellow pupils forced better performances of their mates. The Maori cultural festival held recently was probably the biggest seen here for many years with some 300 pupils from other schools participating. Citizens Award This award was presented by the district's mayor Garrick Workman, who paid tribute to long serving staff member Mrs Crowley and the support given to the school by Mr Harry Cast who leaves Ruapehu College and takes up a new position of Waitara College, Taranaki in the new year. This year the citizen's award went to Dallas Ruke.
