Raetihi prize giving
Traditionally Raetihi Primary School prize giving has always been well supported by parents, family and friends and this year was no exception, to the point where the hall was over flowing out to the school yard. No doubt the warm sunny weather contributed to that. The Principal's Report. Mr Fountain saw through his first year as principal at Raetihi School, with what he described as overwhelming support from parents, family and friends alike. A discipline programme put into place with the theme, "catch them while they are good" seemed to reduce behaviour problems quite significantly, he said. Success in the sporting
arena seemed to come more easily where fellow pupils forced better performances of their mates. The Maori cultural festival held recently was probably the biggest seen here for many years with some 300 pupils from other schools participating. The senior social, also another success, saw the school end its year on a high note. Major wards Runner-up dux Kelly Ann Craig; Lisa Crowley prize for written language and speech, Jennifer Griffiths.
