Summer skiing set sliding
After a record winter ski season Turoa Ski Resort is offeririg more skiing this summer with the Diet Pepsi Summer Festi ve Season. This is only the second time in its history that Turoa has been able to open for summer skiing. Facilities were to open from Boxing Day , 26 December, through to Sunday 8 January for sightseeing and skiing as snow conditions allow. At the time of writing there was still snow for skiing, although there had been heavy warm rain in the days leading up to Christmas. Lifts operating include the Movenpick quad chairlift for access and the High Flyer Quad Chairlift for skiing and snowboarding. The Bacardi T Bar (High Noon) will operate for skiing and snowboarding however Turoa advises that its operation may become marginal due to snow conditions. A full range of hire equipment is available on the mountain. Cafeterias are open in the base area and at the top of the High Flyer chairlift. The company promises plenty of fun competitions and events for the whole family to enjoy with some great prizes on offer. These include bumper sticker lucky dips, cider tastings, the Brightstone Giant Jump, fishing in the snow. Prices for skiing/snowboarding will be $20 for adults, $10 for youths with free cola products with all youth passes purchased. Sightseeing passes will also be available for $10. Lifts will be operating 9.00am -2.00pm..
