More Spiral Hill design
Further design work for improving Spiral Hill on State Highway Four just south of Raurimu is to be funded by Transit New Zealand to the amount of $30,000 in the year 1995-96. The section of road being looked at for safety and construction work is at the southern end of the passing lanes going up
the hill from Raurimu. $30,000 was budgeted for such work last year by TNZ. Also, the Ruapehu District Council is to apply for an extra $100,000 for subsidised road works from Transit New Zealand to cover damage caused by exceptionally bad weather this year.
