Sophisticated

security

Security systems today are far more sophisticated than ever. They range from the familiar key switch and sounders to bigger systems that can report to a central control station exactly where the intrusion is taking place i.e. which room - who armed or disarmed the system and at what time - to new technology that is now being installed to allow TV pictures to be taken and transmitted through conventional security systems and phone lines to a central control station. A new system has been installed locally that is worked over a radio link to allow monitoring of the premise so that phone lines are not needed. This system is ideal for farm type situations - woolsheds/workshops or ski chalets. Sensors can be imbedded in driveways that can detect any metal objects passing by, ideal for farm locations to stop stock thefts. Water control situations or any other type of alarm situations are another ideal use for this link. Detectors have taken a quantum leap in technology. They can detect the sound of breaking glass and splintering wood, extremely small movement detectors that can be hidden, sensors fixed to floor joists that act like a pressure mat under the carpet to detect people, vibration sensors that detect someone trying to break down a door or through a wall. Heat and smoke detectors can be connected to conventional systems.
