Army museum pavilion opens

By

Michele

Monaghan

After ten months of construction, the Kippenberger Pavilion at the Army Museum in Waiouru should be open to the public today. Marketing manager Mark O'Connor said that all going well the public would get their first feel of walking through the new entrance way in to the pavilion today. "Touch wood, fingers crossed, it will be," he said. As well as becoming the new main entrance for the museum, the pavilion houses the new cafeteria and souvenir shop. The QEII Army Memorial Museum has been a popular tourist attraction since it was opened in 1978. The museum has a wide range of factual and life-like displays as well as a magnificent weapon collection and much, much more.
