Turoa signs a rum deal
Turoa Ski Resort and Allied Liquor Merchants last week announced a three year sponsorship arrangement which makes the Bacardi spirit brand one of the major sponsors at the ski field. "Skiers are anatural market for us," said Bacardi brand manager Carolyne McCourtie. "They tend to be young, active, outdoors people who enjoy spending their money on leisure activities. That ties in well with our customer profile, and enables us to get closer to our customers and support their interests." As part of the agreement, the liquor merchants will have naming rights of the Bacardi T Bar (previously Highnoon). There will also be a regular ski and snowboard Bacardi 'Racea Mate' seriesthroughoutthe year. "We are very excited about this sponsorship," said Turoa Ski Resort general manager Angus Grimwade. "It provides us
with a great opportunity to promote Turoa alongside a leading international brand. The three year term will enable us to form a strong partnership, working together to promote both Turoa and Bacardi." The T bar is to be re-
named in time for the Turoa Summer Festive season of skiing when the field' s lifts will be operating between 26 December and January 8 for skiing, snowboarding and sightseeing, weather and snow conditions permitting.
