Make-A-Wish comes to the party for Jenna

Make a Wish folk helped the Parkes family say thankyou to friends and family for their help with their daughter Jenna Parks over her seven years last Sunday. Kerry and Phillip Parkes decided to mark Jenna' s seventh birthday with a party especially for those who have helped through Jenna' s four-year illness, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation 'came to the party' by providing $500 towards the cost of it, and also paid for Kerry' s sister Carolyn Julian to fly home from Perth, Western Australia, for the occasion. Kerry said the foundation had been amazing. She said she contacted them just three weeks ago and that they assessed their application almost straight away, and provided the money. . Jenna suffers from a terminal illness, Late Infantile Batten's Disease, which affects her brain and nervous system. FOOTNOTE: The foundation recently announced a sponsorship deal whereby for each pair of Bill Bass sunglasses sold through Unichem chemists, a donation is made to the foundation.
