Home open for Christmas
In keeping with 'The Year of the Family' Alistair and Dawn Donaldson and their family will once again be decorating their family home on Pipiriki Road, Raetihi, with a Christmas theme, using their talents with floral art. Those who visited the Donaldson home last' year when it was decorated were absolutely delighted, not only with the magnificent decorations and hospitality but with the whole atmosphere that had been created by the family, who had been so very generous in allowing their home to be used in a fund-raising event, said Waimarino Rest Home committee member Faith Wise. This year the Donaldson family have offered their home to the Waimarino Rest Home Trust to raise money for the proposed rest home. Due to the popularity last year the
Donaldson 'Christmas Family Home' will be open on the following days and times: Friday 9 December 7- 10pm; Saturday 10 December 10am- 10pm; Sunday 11 December 2-4pm. There will be a $4 admission fee and free tea, coffee, punch and Christmas fare. A stall will be filled with Christmas goodies for sale. "This wonderful event is open to the public during those hours and it is hoped that as many as possible will be able to visit this 'Christmas Family Home' and enjoy the beautiful decorations and arrangements," said Mrs Wise. Arrangements have been made with Rotarians who said they will be very happy to pick up and return any senior citizens who wish to visit the Donaldson home, as well as any other persons who have no transport. Contact numbers are 385-4684, 385-4957 and 385-4270.
