The Waiouru Playcentre was to celebrate their 30th anniversary last week, but after receiving some extra information the celebrations will now take place in August next year. Parent education officer Sian Raines, said that the first committee meeting was held in November 1964. After some contact with past members of the Playcentre, it has been established that the first play session was not held until August 1965, so the celebrations have been put off. It' s business as usual for the centre and pictured is Jamie McLellan at the woodwork table, which is just one of the many activities the Playcentre offers.
