Book fair response 'just enough'

Last week's book fair at Waiouru Primary School was not as successful as the one held earlier in the year. Book fair organiser Shonagh MacGibbon said there was not as big a selection as there was in April, especially for the more senior pupils. Mrs MacGibbon said the abysmal weather didn't help, neither did the power cut on Tuesday which saw all of Waiouru without power for most of the day. "My solar powered calculator turned itself off, it was so dark in here at one stage," she said. Despite the lower sale of
books the $1000 mark was reached, so 40 per cent of the profits will be returned to the school libraries. "Both libraries got the
wish lists they wanted. We just covered enough." Mrs MacGibbon said that in this case just enough was good enough.
