The Waiouru Eskimo Pie Playgroup has just received more funding and the 30-odd children on the roll are reaping the benefits. Playgroup president Monique Corney, said most of the money was used to purchase toys, puzzles, musical instruments, paints and easels. The playgroup now operates out of the main community hall instead of the supper room and the extra space is coming in handy with all the extra equipment. As the warmer weather approaches attendance is pickingup. "It' s good to have more room — good with more kids," said Monique. The playgroup intends to get in to the travelling business in the new year by visiting other playgroups in the region. Playgroup sessions are run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30 to 1 1.30am and costs 50 cents per session.
