Vacancies on health ethics committee
The ManawatuWanganui Ethics Committee of the Central Regional Health Authority is seeking nominations for two lay members of the Committee, a health professional member and a Maori representative. The Ethics Committee comprises 1 1 people to represent a balance of experience, knowledge and perspective. An interest in health re-
lated issues and the ability to be impartial is needed. Members must not reflect the interests of specific interest groups. Willngness to reading through lengthy agendas before the monthly half-day meetings is also needed. The prime objective of the Committee is to protect users of health and disability services. The Committee reviews all proposed
health research, and the protocols of any innovative or untried treatments before their introduction.
