Waiouru blood gladly given
Waiouru folk gladly donated blood when Mid-Central Blood Services called at Waiouru this week. About 60 to 70 people normally donate blood when the mobile unit makes one of its twiceyearly visits to Waiouru. Co-ordinator of Blood Services Debra Buchanan said most blood donors are civilians and not soldiers, as could be expected in Waiouru. The mobile blood unit makes three to four visits a week to different places spread over a large area. This weekthey called at Otaki, Eketahuna and Waiouru. Based at Palmerston North Hospital, the mobile blood unit has now been in service for "a good 15 years". Mrs Buchanan said the mobile unit is important as it provides a service for those people that want to donate blood on a regu- . lar basis.
