Top service

• One of last week's readers brought out a good point about the ratings of the ski fields. To my observation, having visited Ohakune for the last 10 years I would consider that one of the most important aspects for the business community is that of personal service and public relations. The survival of some of the shops could depend on these things. Some saies people have got it right and I list my top 1 2 in this order: Honey from the bookshop; Ann from the chemist; Rose from the bookshop; Alisonfrom Jean City; John from the craft shop; Peter Berry; Dianne from the Trustbank; Coral from the Drapery; Kylie from the chemist; Wendy

from the library; Pauline from New World and Maxine from the bookshop. I am sad to say that some people turn custonTaway by their sour faces, lack of friendliness and obvious dislike of their jobs. I could start a bottom 1 0 by starting at either end of the grouping of businesses on Clyde Street. But I won't go any further, except to say that there are other ways to send parcels and even letters these days and suggest to the shopkeepers who employ women who are too tired to give a service, to replace them with some vitality and I'm sure your turnover will go up. I suggest shop persons take note of the followine.

A regular visitor.
