School camp a hit with children and parents

A recent trip to the Hawkes Bay by the entire contingent of Orautoha School pupils and a group of parents proved immensely popular with young and young-at-heart alike. The group enjoyed a week-long stay at Stoney Creek Ranch, a Christian youth camp situated half an hour from Napier that offers its visitors all the comforts of home, and a host of outdoors activities. Pupils took advantage of the facilities and enjoyed (amongst other things) horse

treks, three-wheeler motorbikes, BMX bikes, archery, and the many sporting activities on offer. Within easy travellingdistance were such attractions as Napier' s Marineland and Aquarium. Almost as popular was the local McDonald's Restaurant. The school received some financial assistance from REAP towards the cost of the stay, with the rest of the money fund-raised within the community through such activities as pizza drives, crutching and raffles.
