Council summer works scheduled
New guard rails are scheduled to be erected on the Ohakune Mountain Road next January, and shape correction work carried out in December and January. These projects are among those outlined in the Ruapehu District Council' s programme of works for 1994/95, made public recently.
Among other road works : Pipiriki Road minor safety 1 projeot, November- December; shape correction Pipiriki and Raetihi - Ohura roads (December January); Tainui Street footpath (Nov - Dec); Rimu Street, Tawhero St & Bums St seal extensions (Jan - March); Hukuroa Rd, SH 4 & Seddon St footpaths (NovDec); widening corners
Makakahi Rd (Nov); Raetihi - Ohura Rd deviation (Jan - March); Ngapakihi Rd sealing (Jan - March); reseal of the Ohakune Swimming Baths carpark (Dec - Feb) Other works include: sewer renewals in Mangawhero Terrace & Arawa Streets in Ohakune; Tainui Street stormwater work; SH4 Raetihi stormwater
line; Ranfurly Tce, Raetihi water supply ring main and Seddon Street water supply upgrade (Oct - Nov); Southridge Drive Ohakune water main extension (Oct - Nov); additional fire hydrants Turoa Village (Oct - Nov); Upgrade of Ohakune Swimming Baths changing sheds (Sept - Oct); reseal
Tangiwai Memorial carpark (Dec - Feb) Also on thd schedule but not timetabled were: Christie Park, Ohakune, playground equipment (The Bulletin understands this equipment has now arrived but awaits council ground works); Pipiriki boat ramp; Rochfort Park lighting;
