Waimarino golf

A small field contested club day this week but that did not mean low scoring. Miles McNaught in the juniors won the junior meat pack with an excellent 48 points followed by Andrew Whooley on 44, Russell Munn on 42 and Daniel Munn on 39 points. The handicapper will probably be looking closely at the above gentlemen's cards. The senior field was smaller due to the absence of regular golfers defending the Cascade cup at Taihape. There were some good scores here as well. Carol Leary took the meat pack with 41 points, Murray Steel was 2nd on 38 with Michael Lloyd 3rd on 37 points. Members are reminded of the 36-hole tournament on 17 September and names are wanted for King Country Champs in October. The lucky member draw is now up to $ 1 80. Members are reminded that they need to be in the club house when the number is drawn. Lucky number this week was 1 6. Sponsors were The Video Shop.
