Wanganui Motors Turoa Tumbler news

The first weekend of the school holidays saw the Wanganui Motors Turoa Tumblers Gym Club in action at Dannevirke in the Hawkes Bay/Poverty Bay Junior Championships. This is the last major competition for the squad for the year and all girls scored consistently through each apparatus to finish around about the middle of the results. In level 3 Jackie Laurenson, Krystal Abbot and Donna Deadman all scored 8+ on vault and floor. Donna' s 8.725 on vault placed her 4th out of 37 competitors. Krystal' s 8.575 and Jackie's 8.375 completed a very good team effort on this apparatus. The five apparatus totals for the girls were: Jackie 39.225, Krystal 37.775 and Donna 40.575. The level 4 team was also good on vault and beam. Rebecca Lind's 8.75 on beam was the team's highest individual score for the day. Fiona Lynch scored 8.30 on the beam with Nolana Marsh' s 8.325 on the vault her best apparatus on the day. Five apparatus totals for this team were: Nolana 37.525, Rebecca 39.975 and Fiona 37.375. The next outing for the Tumblers is to be a tumbling competition in Taupo in early October. Training sessions for recreational gymnasts start again at the Ruapehu College Gymnasium on Tuesday afternoons at 3.30pm on 13 September.
