An Orautoha resident provided this photograph of work on recovery of a Ruapehu Construction Limited digger that slipped down a bank off the Raetihi Ohura Road, just past the school, on Tuesday 23 August. Attempts to raise the digger using an army crane failed that day, and a bigger army crane was brought in the following day to drag the machine out.
