Honey, I'm going home?

Ruapehu College's administration clerk Honey Winter had tongues wagging recently - and all she had to do was answer to her name. She was with a school trip to Wellington recently, wandering around a supermarket, while a male teacher called out to her phrases like "Honey, do we need Toffee Pops?" and "Honey, there's a special on ice cream - it's only a couple of Bucks". As it so happens, there was a friend of the said teacher' s wife in the supermarket who very quickly rang to say that she was very concerned to hear that he was calling a woman "Honey" - and in public!
