Communication club news
Keitha Joumeaux was elected President of the Council 8 Board of International Training in Communication recently. She is the first Ruapehu member to hold this position. It promises to be an exciting and busy year for her with Council 8 hosting the Regional Conference in Palmerston North in May 1995. Impromptu and humorous speech contests held recently resulted in Keitha Journeaux winning the impromptu section and Myra Crowley winning the humorous. Both competed in Palmerston North with Myra Crowley being placed third in the humorous section. Officers for the 1994/95 year for the Ruapehu club are: Ann Greenwood, delegate to Council 8; Margaret Cornwall
vice president; Myra Crowley, treasurer; Fey Eves, parliamentarian; Jo Robinson, secretary - president, Jean Windle; V.P. membership, Jefferine O'Sullivan; publicity, Francie Geraghty. Installing officer was Val Littlewood. Val chose 'Spices' for her theme. She likened the positions of the officers to various cooking ingredients, and concluded with the advice to the president to mix carefully, not to stir, but set the tone to add vitality, andwishedall 'bonappetit' for the 1994/95 year. "Remember, it doesn't cost - it pays to belong to I.T.C. ," concluded out-going publicity officer Myra Crowley. "If you would like more information on the activities of the Ruapehu ITC contact any of the above members."
