Art tutor to judge awards
The judge of this year's Ohakune Art Awards is none other than a renowned New Zealand art and design tutor. Robert Bassant, tutor at the Academy Art School in Wellington, has had extensive experience as both an art director and free-lance designer in New Zealand and overseas. Until recently and forthe ' past 25 years, he has been a . full-time lecturer in the Visual Communciation Design course at the Wellington Polytechnic School • of Design and has been an artist member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts since 1965. He is also an artist member and second vice-president of the Wellington Society of Watercolour Artists. Mr Bassant received a | Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council Grant for study and travel overseas.
