• Waimarino Police are investigating a burglary from a Ballance St, Raetihi, address on 4 August. • A small amount of property was taken from a Horopito residence sometime between 4-6 August. • On Sunday 7 August, a wheel and rim left at Starline Service Station for repair, was removed from the forecourt sometime during the day. • A number of buildings in the Raetihi area were 'tagged' by eight juvenile offenders. These buildings will be tidied up by them. • Enquiries are continuing into the identity of the offenders who scrawled graffiti on the eastern end of the trolley shed at the Ohakune Railway yard.
• On 4 and 5 August a police operation was mounted in Raetihi which resulted in the arrest of two persons, and the apprehension of four juveniles for their part in an excess of 20 burglaries in the Raetihi area over the past nine months. They will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 1 1 August. • On 5 August at around midnight, two 18-year old youths were arrested after a drunk-driving spree around Raetihi, during which time grass verges were damaged and a fence smashed. They eventually crashed 5km down the Parapara Highway after losing control. They will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 1 1 August.
• A 38-year old Ohakune man was apprehended for disqualified driving and excess breath alcohol levels on 6 August. He will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 1 1 August. • On the morning of 8 August three local men were arrested for assault on Police, assault with a weapon, threatening language and a number of other offences. They appeared in the Taihape District Court yesterday facing multiple charges.
