Waimarino rugby fans enjoyed some entertaining action at Ruapehu College's sports field on the weekend. The Ohakune team rose to the occasion, outscoring Huia eight tries to three, with Huia also kicking a penalty goal. Huia never gave up however, trying valiantly till near the end when Ohakune seated the game with two good team tries, finishing with a 30 point winning margin of 5222. Try scorers for Ohakune were R. Mathews, C. Vine, Fonzie Gordon (2), M. Mareikura (2), J. Seru and S. Vine. Conversions: Fonzie Gordon (6). Huia: Tries - O. Steedman, V. Chase, K. Whale, T. Moore (2 conversions, penalty).
