Renamed health group meets tonight
Originally known as the Waimarino Health Watch Committee, the Community Health Group has been involved in health issues in the community for the past eight years. Over these years the group has run some very successful health days such as melanoma checks, women' s' health checks and hearing checks.
Community Health Group is interested in all aspects of health in the community from the young to the old, immunisation awareness,. to the use of chemical sprays, healthy diets, to drug and alcohol abuse and many others. Late last year they held a number of public meetings so people could air their views on the future of the
Waimarino Health Centre. They have remained in contact with Good Health Wanganui in an effort to be kept informed of the progress of the proposed new Health Centre. They have indicated strongly to Good Health Wanganui the health serv-
ices the Waimarino community requires for this region and promise to do their best to see that what services the community has are not taken away. Those who would like to have a say on any of these issues or have an issue of their own that concerns
them can either write it down in our Community Health Group books, which can be found in the Ohakune and Raetihi chemists, or join the group at their next meeting, tonight at the community health rooms in Queen Street Raetihi, starting 7.30pm.
