Director Rita Kaiwhare began proceedings on Wednesday 29 June by

welcoming to the club Hans Huizing. Hans is living in Raetihi for the winter season and hopes to attend bridge regularly during his stay. The better cards were in the north-south direction on Wednesday night, with the scoring across the four tables very close. Lauretta Eades and Pauline Le Noel took top honours with 53.22% and relegated to second were Ron Martin and Heather Cranston with 48.35%. Making the most of the cards they were dealt were east-west team Jenny and Gordon Mottram who scored a very good 68.63%. Also doing well to take second place on 52.64% were Ellen Mitchell and George Drayton.
