Taking the cake!
Raetihi School Form 2 pupil Wayne Metekingi was the toast of Ohakune School's manual cooking class last Thursday, with his magnificent twotier lamington cake creation. Teacher Gaye Hammond told the Bulletin that Wayne's efforts in cooking class more than made up for his slightly less-than-perfect record in sewing class earlier this year. "He has been a real pleasure to teach and to have in class", she said. Wayne and the rest of the class spent their final day cooking up a storm and posed proudly with the fruits of their efforts for the Bulletin camera.
