Building permits worth $1.7 million

Building consents lssued in the Ruapehu District in May were worth more than $1.7 million, up from $328,000 for the same month last year. Twenty one consents covered two new dwellings, the Kippenberger Pavilion at the Waiouru Army Museum, six new garages and various

other projects. For the month of April more than $1.2 million worth of building consents were granted, compared to $1.9 million in April 1993. Proj ects included the consents for eight new dwellings, 18 solid fuel heaters, nine garages and carports, and ski lodge extensions.
