Power card meter upsurge as skiing arrives

Card driven electricity meters have become a popular option in Ohakune as the ski town prepared for the new winter season. King country Energy 's board of directors have been told that the town is very busy at the moment because of a demand for new connections, inspections and card meters. General manager Peter Till says around three percent of King Country Energy' s customers now use card meters for their electricity, but they are especially popular in areas where there is a large transient population, such as ski lodges. "Card meters are the perfect way of ensuring users pay for electricity," he said.
