Throwing rocks for easier slide
Having three diggers on Turoa over summer meant more than building a new lift. Lots of rock grooming went on, including midfield (pictured). Volcanic rubble has been moved to create a 2 metre fall from the top of the Park Lane chair to the start of the track to the Giant Chairlift. (Previously there was actually an uphill slope of over a metre - no wonder you couldn ' t get any speed up ! ) . A gentler track has been created to take sliders around and down to the plat-
