Fashion fun for cash

Around $2000 was raised from last week' s pre- winter Fashion Parade, to benefit the Ohakune Kindergarten. Over 200 people converged on the Hot Lava Nightclub at the Ohakune Junction to enjoy the night's entertainment that included an on-going fashion show with fashions by Sam and Libby's, Junction Ski Shop, Jean City and Waimarino Livestock. Models walked the stage to music pfovided by each 'fashion house' including a

'70' s disco revival by Jean City. One of the highlights of the evening, according to party-goers, was a performance by Taihape' s Highland Pipe Band, which had more than one patron performing an impromptu highland fling. Ohakune Kindergarten head teacher Yvonne Trigell, said she was very happy with the outcome of the evening and extended thanks to everyone who contributed to making the 1994 Fashion Parade such a resounding success.
