Locals part of global Christian march
Around 100 Waimarino Christians are expected to take part in Saturday's world-wide Global March for Jesus programme. The Ohakune-Raetihi march in an official International Y ear of the Family project. Participants will assemble at the Ruapehu Apostolic Outreach Centre in Goldfinch Street, Dog fees up The Ruapehu District Council's draft annual plan will see large increases in dog registration fees. Proposed increases are: six weekly treatment $106, movement control $53, selected ownership $41 annually. This is an increase of 19 to 23 per cent. The annual plan is to be adopted at a special meeting next week, when the fees will be _S£L
Ohakune, at 9.30am this Saturday 25 June. The march will finish at Ohakune' s Presbyterian Church. Returning to their vehicles the marchers will then travel to Raetihi to assemble at St Mary's Anglican Church in Seddon St, Raetihi, for a second march starting 11.30am and finishing at the Ohakune/ Raetihi Baptist Church in Ward Street. A programme
of prayer and singing is planned before dispersal at 12.30pm. The March for Jesus in New Zealand involves over 90 towns and cities with organisers anticipating up to 100,000 people taking part. The NZ marches are part of a global day of prayer - 'A Day To Change The World' organised by the AD2000 network of International Christian Ministries.
